GWTW ATC

I was absolutely thrilled to see that the current Fun with ATCs Challenge is Classic Films.  My all-time favorite film is Gone With the Wind.  My living room is a veritable homage to the film and the book.  So, I felt like I must take a moment to make an ATC in honor of Rhett and Scarlett.

I began by copying off one of my favorite black and white images of Rhett and Scarlett onto photo paper.  After cropping the image to fit my Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper ATC, I went for a "hand-tinted" effect by coloring the image with Distress Markers and a waterbrush.  To give the image a little more visual impact against the ATC background, I sanded its edges.

The background for Rhett and Scarlett started with a wrought iron gate stamp and black archival ink.  I went over the entire ATC with Fired Brick Distress Ink.  I added a little more distressing and shadowing with Crushed Olive Distress marker around parts of the wrought iron design.  I free-handed the GTWT with a gel-pen and added a little black shadowing with an archival black pen.  Rhett and Scarlett were affixed to the ATC with foam adhesive squares.

How fun!  Perhaps a second ATC will make it to the blog before the challenge deadline.  I can hope.  After all ... "tomorrow is another day."

Hello Mary Elizabeth! One of my favorite movies is Gone With The Wind as well! Love your ATC! so pretty with the music in the background. I can almost hear the theme from the movie playing. :) Love the pop up of Scarlett and Rhett. I also wanted to thank you for such a sweet comment you left on my blog. You made me feel so good this morning when I read that. It really helped my creativity this morning, which seemed to be on hiatus! Thank you! <3 Candy
